Brewster, Massachusetts – The Johnson & Wales University men's golf team continued their tour of the Captain's Golf Course as they competed on the second day of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association championships Monday on the Starboard course. The Wildcats shot a 303 on day two and finished second in the tournament with a combined 604, fifteen back of Babson College.
Babson College had a strong second day as the top four finishers in the tournament were Beavers. Nicholas Gianelos edged out teammate Sean Fitzgerald for the top score with a 145, two below Fitzgerald's total. Seventeenth ranked Babson finished the tournament with a 589.
For the second day in a row, the lowest score on the course was posted by a Johnson & Wales Wildcat. Hunter DiLorenzo shot up twenty one spots with his second day score of 71, one under and a 150 total. He finished tied for fifth with his teammates Alex Parente and Matt Daley. Parente shot a 76 on day two while Daley notched a 79, both finishing with a 150 total score. Ryan Malloy improved five strokes from day one with his 77 on day two. Mac Patch finished out his second round with an 83.
The men's golf team will now turn their attention to their final tournament of the fall when they attend the Atlantic Cup on Monday, October 28th.
