WINTHROP, Mass. – For the third consecutive week, Johnson & Wales men's golf swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors announced Monday afternoon. Senior Mac Patch (St. Simons Island, Ga.) secured Golfer of the Week honors, while first-year Nico Ciolino (Marlborough, Mass.) grabbed rookie accolades for the third time.
Patch earned co-medalist honors at the 60-player field Farmingdale State College Fall Invitational posting a two-day total of 143, guiding Johnson & Wales to third-place - the highest of any New England School. On the first day of the tournament held at Bethpage, Patch turned in the lowest score of the tournament, carding a one-under 69.
Ciolino posted a two-day total of 149 at the Bethpage Red Course, turning in scorecards of 74 and 75 on the weekend.
Johnson & Wales is off until the GNAC Championship on Oct. 12 and 13, where it looks to secure its third straight conference title and seventh overall.
