Patch Shoots One Under, Wildcats Second Going Into Day Two

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Johnson & Wales University men's golf team visted the Empire of New York on Saturday when they took to the Bethpage State Park golf course for the first day of the FSC Fall Invitational.  The Wildcats posted a solid start with a 304 that placed them tied for second with host school Farmingdale and only one stroke behind day one leader Rosemont.   

Rosemont, JWU, Farmingdale, Husson, and Nichols were the top five finishes after the first day of action with scores below 310 on a beautiful day for golf. 

JWU's Mac Patch was the top golfer in the tournament on day one as he shot a 69 for a one under par.  Nico Ciolino shot a 74 for a four over, and a seventh place finish, giving the Wildcats two participants in the top ten after the opening round.  Teammates Ryan Malloy and Christian Maselli shot 79 and 82, while Matt Daley finished the day with an 85.  

The tournament finishes Sunday at the Bethpage State Park golf course.
