Men's Golf Sits Fourth after Day 1

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Johnson & Wales University men's golf team jumped into the 2019-20 season with a strong first round at the Duke Nelson Invitational. The Wildcats carded an opening 302 which was good for fourth place at the end of 18 holes.

The 302 has the Wildcats +18 on the day, fourth in the standings and eleven back from the day one leaders.  With a 291, NYU and Middlebury sit tied atop the leaderboard, while Babson College shot a 293 and sits alone in third. 

Leading the way was freshman Nico Ciolino with an even score of 71 that has him tied for 6th. Both Ryan Malloy and Hunter DiLorenzo finished the day +5 and are tied for 29th.

Justin Lavoie finished off +8, while teammate Mac Patch concluded at +10 to round off the Wildcats start.  

The tournament concludes Sunday with the final 18 holes at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
