Hosts in Sixth Place After Day One of Wildcat Spring Invitational

CRANSTON, RI – Strong winds made scoring conditions difficult on the first day of the Wildcat Spring Invitational, hosted by the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team. The Wildcats shot 325 on Saturday at the Cranston Country Club.

Western New England leads the way with a score of 306 while Husson trails by three shots. John Abbott from WNEU shot the low round of the day with a 73

Sophomore Alex Parente and freshman Claudio Soukamneuth were tops on the team with an opening-round of 78. Rookie Matt Daley followed at 84. Christian Maselli posted a score of 85 and Ryan Malloy carded an 87. Competing as individuals, Hunter DiLorenzo turned in a 79 and Adam Ely posted an 89.

The tournament wraps up on Sunday with the final 18 holes.
