Wildcats in Ninth Place After Day One of Hampton Inn Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – With one round in the books at the Hampton Inn Invitational, the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team is in ninth place. The Wildcats shot an opening-round 318 at the Allendale Country Club.

Trinity leads the event at 299. The Wildcats are two shots back of Springfield College and trail Rhode Island College by eight strokes.

Freshman Ryan Malloy leads the team with a 75 on the first loop to tie for 10th overall. Sophomore Christian Maselli fired a 78 and classmate Alex Parente carded an 82. Rookies Claudio Soukamneuth and Adam Ely shot 83 and 84, respectively. Freshman Hunter DiLorenzo shot a 78 as an individual entry.

JWU plays the final 18 holes on Saturday.
