BREWSTER, Mass. – The fall season came to a close on Tuesday for the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team. The Wildcats placed eighth at the NEIGA Championship, held at the Captains Golf Club.
Johnson & Wales posted a two-day score of 622 (309-313) to finish two shots back of Tufts. Husson won the tournament at 586, one shot better than Rhode Island College.
The lowest two-day total was turned in by freshman Claudio Soukamneuth (Cranston, R.I.) with a 153 (76-77) to tie for 17th. Two strokes back was sophomore Christian Maselli (Exeter, RI) at 155 (76-79). The best day-two score was carded by rookie Matt Daley (Duxbury, Mass.) with a 76 as part of his 157 (81-76). Freshmen Ryan Malloy (East Greenwich, RI) and Hunter DiLorenzo (Boxborough, Mass.) each fired a 160.
Johnson & Wales gets back on the course during the spring season. JWU will prep for the 2018 NCAA Championship after winning the GNAC title.
