FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Johnson & Wales University men's golf team posted its second-best 36-hole score of the season this weekend at the Farmingdale State College Fall Invitational. The Wildcats carded a two-day total of 634 to take sixth.
JWU put together rounds of 309 and 325. Husson won the event with a score of 593.
Posting his first top 10 finish of the year was sophomore Christian Maselli (Exeter, R.I.) as he carded a 153 (75-78). Two freshmen finished within a shot of each other as Claudio Soukamneuth (Cranston, R.I.) fired a 159 (76-83) and Adam Ely (Essex, Vt.) posted a 160 (80-80). Next was sophomore Alex Parente (North Kingstown, R.I.) at 162 (78-84) and rookie Ryan Malloy (East Greenwich, R.I.) rounded out the scores with a 164 (80-84).
Johnson & Wales gets back on the course in two weeks at the GNAC championship. The tournament will be played at the Valley Country Club in Warwick.
