Wildcats Improve on Day Two of Williams Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – For the second tournament in a row, the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team cut strokes off its total during the final round. The Wildcats shaved seven strokes off Saturday's total to move up to 14th at the Williams Invitational with a 36-hole total of 675 (341-334).

A pair of freshman led the way for Johnson & Wales with identical scores of 163. Alex Parente (North Kingston, RI) followed up an 85 on Saturday with a 76 during the final 18 holes. The best round of the tournament was turned in by Christian Maselli (Exeter, RI) as he improved by 11 shots with a 76 on Sunday. Classmate Dawson Campbell (Newport, NH) fired identical 88s for a 176. Senior Alan Ferrara (Pawtucket, RI) was next at 177 (83-94) while Alec Carew (Jericho, Vt.) posted a 178 (86-92).

Johnson & Wales is back on the course Friday when it takes on Albertus Magnus in a dual match.
