Wildcats Fall In Final Seconds 77-44 at Anna Maria

PAXTON, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team battled back from a double-digit deficit, but couldn't come away with a GNAC victory on Saturday. The Wildcats lost 77-74 at Anna Maria College.

Of Note:
Trailing 56-45 six minutes into the second half, the Wildcats tied the game at 62-62 after back-to-back baskets by Darnay Gray.

Jakai Alexandre's basket with 36 seconds remaining put the AMCATS up 74-72. JWU had two chances at tying the game but committed a pair of turnovers.

A Justin Bullock three-pointer gave JWU a 21-11 advantage at the 13:32 mark of the first half. The Wildcats were outscored 30-10 the rest of the half as Anna Maria took a 41-31 halftime lead.

Four Wildcats posted double digits, topped by 19 from Bullock. Brian Davis turned in a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double and Danny Ampofo scored 14 off the bench.

The charity stripe was the difference as the Wildcats were 7-of-10 at the line while the hosts shot 18-of-31.
