NASHUA, NH – The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team got out to a hot start Thursday night and never looked back. The Wildcats scored their most points of the season as they downed Rivier University, 104-60.

Johnson & Wales: 8-10, 3-1 GNAC
Johnson & Wales got out to a fast start, outscoring Rivier 11-0 in the first three minutes thanks to a pair of Matt Madoian three-pointers. The lead grew to as many as 28, 47-19, on a Brian Hogan-Gary jumper at the 4:32 mark of the first half before the Wildcats went into half up 57-30.
The Wildcats could hardly miss, shooting 69.8 percent from the floor – including 73.9 percent in the second half - and 61.5 percent from behind the arc. The 69.8 percent is JWU's highest rate since hitting 75.4 percent versus Albertus Magnus on February 24, 2011.
The 104 points are the most the Wildcats have scored since they put 106 on the Raiders on February 3, 2018.
All five JWU starters reached double figure, led by Hogan-Gary's game-high 29 points. Producing his third double-double of the season was Randall Ferdinand as he poured in 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Johnson & Wales is back at home on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Saint Joseph's (Me.).The game was moved up an hour in advance of the pending snow storm.
