WINTHROP, Mass. – He may have only played one game last week, but Johnson & Wales University men's basketball player Brian Hogan-Gary did enough to earn GNAC Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
A native of Staten Island, NY, it's the third time this year Hogan-Gary has earned the award. Delshawn Jackson from Saint Joseph (Conn.) was tabbed Rookie of the Week.
Johnson & Wales went on the road last week to take on Division I opponent Cornell University. Hogan-Gary produced his second double-double in a row – seventh overall - with 28 points and 11-rebounds. The junior is second in the GNAC and 26th in the NCAA at 22.1 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game.
The Wildcats return home Tuesday to start GNAC play versus Norwich at 7:30 p.m.
