Second Half Push Lifts Men’s Basketball Past McDaniel 70-61

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team traveled out of the region for the Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament, hosted by DeSales University. The Wildcats outscored McDaniel College, 17-8 in the final six minutes for the 70-61 triumph on Saturday.

McDaniel: 3-7
Johnson & Wales: 5-6

Of Note:
With the victory, the Wildcats move on to the championship game on Sunday against the host Bulldogs at 4 p.m.

Six minutes into the game, JWU found itself down 13-4. A Matt Madoian dunk tied the game at 13-13, but the Green Terror pushed the lead back up to 24-18.

A Brian Hogan-Gary jumper gave the Wildcats their first lead, 28-26, and JWU finished the half on a 12-0 run to go into the locker room up 33-26.

The two teams went back and forth in the second half with a pair of MC free throws tying the game at 55-55 with five minutes remaining.

Justin Bullock and Deji Johnson combined for 11 points and Kevin Rodriguez made a pair of baskets down the stretch to seal the victory.

Bullock led all players with 29 points. He's scored 29 or more points in two of his last three games.

McDaniel shot 53.3 percent from the floor, but the Wildcats compensated by drilling 10 three-pointers. JWU also forced the Green Terror into 20 turnovers.
