WINTHROP, Mass. – Last season Brian Hogan-Gary produced the first triple-double by a Johnson & Wales University men's basketball player in over seven years. He nearly did it again on Sunday in the season-opening 85-80 win over Babson and was recognized for his efforts with GNAC Player of the Week.
It's his first award of the year and the second of his career. Ryan O'Neill from Saint Joseph was selected Rookie of the Week.
Against the Beavers, Hogan-Gary put up 22 points and 10 rebounds to go along with nine assists and six steals. In the overtime period, the Staten Island, NY native had five points, two rebounds and an assist as Johnson & Wales outscored Babson, 17-12
Johnson & Wales is back at home Tuesday to host Rhode Island College at 7 p.m.
