Strong  Finish Gives Men’s Basketball 69-62 Win at Suffolk
BOSTON – The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team outscored host Suffolk 12-5 in the final three minutes on its way to victory. The Wildcats won their third game in a row and 10th out of their last 11 with the 69-62 triumph on Saturday.

Of Note:
Jarell Lawson (Providence, RI) made a pair of free throws to put JWU ahead 59-57 then hit a layup with 53 seconds remaining to push the Wildcat lead to 63-57. The Wildcats hit six free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Senior point guard Anthony Jernigan (East Hartford, Conn.) was on the verge of a triple double with 23 points, eight assists and six rebounds. The Wildcats had five players score eight or more points with three reaching double figures. Israel Johnson (Southampton, NY) was next with 11 points and Michael Kiser (Pike Road, Ala.) added 10.

The Rams had the shooting advantage (49.0-44.2) and made two more 3-pointers (9-7). The difference came at the free throw line as the Wildcats made twice as many shots (16-21) as Suffolk took (3-7).

Johnson & Wales returns home on Sunday to take on Norwich at 2 p.m. The game was twice rescheduled due to inclement weather.
