PROVIDENCE, RI – The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team dug too big of a hole at Albertus Magnus during a six-minute stretch in the first half. The Wildcats fought hard all night but dropped an 87-63 decision to the Falcons, ending their seven-game winning streak.
Johnson & Wales: 9-9, 9-3 GNAC

Anthony Jernigan (East Hartford, Conn.) made a layup at the 11:31 mark of the first half to tie the game at 16-16. Albertus Magnus responded with a 20-2 run over the next six minutes to take a 36-18 lead. A dunk by Michael Kiser (Pike Road, Ala.) cut the margin to 57-44 with 14:30 to go in the second half, but that's as close as the Wildcats would get the rest of the way.
Three Wildcats reached double figures, led by Edson Dascy's career-high 19 points to go along with a team-high six rebounds. Jernigan was next with 15 points while Jarell Lawson (Providence, RI) added 10 points.
