BOSTON, Mass. – Anthony Jernigan scored seven points during a 15-6 run as the Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team put its game with Emmanuel out of reach. The Wildcats went on the road to win their fifth game in a row, 83-75, over the Saints on Saturday.

The Saints took a 34-29 lead on a Max Butterbrodt jumper with 4:37 left in the first half, but the Wildcats responded with a 14-5 run that was capped by an Israel Johnson (Southampton, NY) three. After Will Jessup hit a jumper to get Emmanuel within 65-60. Edson Dascy (Fall River, Mass) hit a jumper to start the run and Jernigan's (East Hartford, Conn.) basket at the 2:07 mark capped it.
For the third time in four games, Jernigan eclipsed the 30-point mark with a game-high 31 points. He also pulled in seven rebounds and nabbed four steals to hold on to the national lead at 3.7 steals per game. Dascy followed with a career-high 18 points as four Wildcats reached double figures. Michael Kiser (Pike Road, Ala.) was next at 13 points and Johnson followed with 11 points and six assists.
The Wildcats shot 44.6 percent (25-65) and nailed eight three pointers. Emmanuel had a 49-35 rebounding advantage, but JWU forced the Saints into 14 turnovers for 17 Wildcat points.
JWU is back at home on Wednesday to play host to Suffolk at 7 p.m.
