Going into her third season as an assistant coach with the Johnson & Wales University field hockey team, Stephanie Walker brings a wealth of knowledge to the Wildcats. Walker has nearly 10 years of coaching experience, including six at the NCAA Division II & III levels.
During the last two seasons, Walker has helped Johnson & Wales reach the semifinals of the GNAC Tournament. Walker assists head coach Jessica Zubretsky in all facets of the program, including one-on-one training sessions.
Prior to joining the Wildcats, Walker spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Bentley University. The Falcons won 41 games with Walker on staff and advanced to the semifinals of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Bentley had a pair of All-Americans during Walker’s time in Waltham.
After graduating from Rider University, Walker got her first coaching job as the head coach for the Seacoast United Field Hockey Club. Walker has been a coach a numerous field hockey camps throughout New England.
Walker graduated from Rider in 2008 with a degree in journalism. A four-time All-Northeast Conference selection, she finished her career with 36 goals and 95 points. She finished the 2005 season ranked 11th in the NCAA with 34 points. Walker was a member of the 2004 squad that won the NEC and was inducted into the Rider Hall of Fame.
