WINTHROP, Mass. – Johnson & Wales field hockey (6-12, 4-4 GNAC) secured the No. 6 seed in the 2019 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament announced Wednesday evening.
The Wildcats begin its post-season run on Saturday, November 2, facing the No. 3 seed Simmons University (7-11, 4-4 GNAC) in Brighton, Massachusetts at 11 a.m. A victory over the Sharks would propel the Wildcats into the GNAC semifinals against No. 2 Lasell University on Wednesday, November 6 in Newton, Massachusetts.
Johnson & Wales already has a win at Daly Field this year, defeating Simmons in overtime, 4-3, on October 12. Junior midfielder Natalie Rivas (Andover, N.J.) scored the game-winner nearly two minutes into the extra period.
