PROVIDENCE, RI – Field hockey fell to Lasell University in their third game of conference play. Unfortunately, a three-goal lead and two late goals from the Lasers was too much for the Wildcats to come back from as they lost, 5-3.

Lasell University: 4-7

Statistical Leaders:
Sam Taylor (LU): 1 goal, 1 assist
Rachel DeVore (JWU): 1 goal, 1 assist

Of Note:
The first half was evenly fought and almost scoreless, up until Lasell got on the board a minute before halftime. The Lasers added two more early in the third quarter to take the lead 3-0.

JWU's comeback began in the 37th minute of the game when they were able to capitalize off a corner. The ball was passed to Hailey Schneider and she fired it towards the net, and Alaina Nardslico guided the ball in.

Rachel DeVore added another, fighting through a scrum in front of the net and putting the ball around the goalkeeper to score.

Looking to close the lead, the Wildcats capitalized on another corner opportunity. Rachel DeVore passed the ball across the arch to McKayla Weaver who smacked the ball into the back of the net, bringing the game to 4-3.

To secure the 5-3 win, Lasell's Sam Taylor scored off a fast break run guiding the ball around the goalkeeper.

The Lasers outshot the Wildcats 18-15 while the Wildcats led in corners 11-10. Goalkeeper Grace Pendergast started the game saving three of six shots, while Madison Flaxington finished the game saving two of four shots.
