Field Hockey Drops 7-1 Decision against Saint Joseph’s

PROVIDENCE, RI – In a rainy homecoming match up, the Johnson & Wales University field hockey team faced first-place conference rival Saint Joseph's (Maine) Unfortunately, early goals from the Monks were too much to come back from as the Wildcats fell 7-1.

Of Note:
The Monks got an early lead with a score in the third minute on the first of three Libby Pomerleau goals and tacked on four more in the opening 35 minutes for a 5-0 halftime lead.

The Wildcats got on the board in the final 10 minutes of the game when Jillian Miele found the back of the net. She has scored at least one point in her last five games.

JWU Goalkeeper Claire Nolan faced 17 shots on goal and made 10 saves. The Monks outshot the Wildcats, 29-to-7.
