Field Hockey Routs Dean College 13-0

PROVIDENCE, RI - Freshman Jillian Miele and the Johnson & Wales University field hockey team lit up the scoreboard board in a non-conference win over Dean College Tuesday night. The Wildcats defeated the Bulldogs, 13-0.

Of Note:
Johnson & Wales had not one, but two hat tricks.  It's the Wildcats' first dual hat trick game and the first hat trick since Giovanna Ciavardoni '18 scored three times against Elms on September 9, 2015.

Miele totaled a season-high six points with four goals and two assists. Erin Esty earned her own hat trick by adding three goals.  

The Wildcats scored their first goal in the 10th minute of the game.  From there, Johnson & Wales dominated with a barrage of shots, which was too much for the Bulldogs to handle. Johnson & Wales outshot Dean, 43-1.

Johnson & Wales had seven different players score a goal. Rookie Megan Kramer recorded the first two goals of her collegiate career and added a pair of assists.

The Wildcats return to play Saturday at 12 pm against St. Joseph's College of Maine, as part of the Johnson & Wales' Homecoming and Family Weekend celebration.
