WESTON, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University field hockey team went on a scoring barrage to tally their first conference win of the season. Down early, the Wildcats did not relent as they defeated Regis, 4-3, on Saturday.

The Pride's Ashley Chipman scored the first goal of the game in the 13th minute. The Wildcats replied with Erin Esty finding the back of the net in the 28th minute, assisted by Adriana Scala.
Johnson & Wales turned up the intensity in the second half with a goal right off the bat from Jillian Miele for a 2-1 lead.
Regis answered with a goal, but that didn't last long. During the next six minutes, Natalie Rivas and Scala each scored to push the Wildcats' lead to 4-2.
The Pride closed the gap to 4-3, but the Wildcats' defense held them off for the final 20 minutes.
The Wildcats are home Monday at 7 p.m. against UMass Dartmouth.
