WORCESTER, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University field hockey team was outscored by Clark, 5-1, on Thursday. An early goal by the Cougars and limited scoring opportunities for the Wildcats led to the road loss.

Johnson & Wales: 1-4
Clark University:  5-2

Statistical Leaders:
Olivia Barksdale (CU): 2 Goals
Rachel Devore (JWU): 1 Goal

Of Note:
Clark came out of the gates strong and got on the board in the first minute of play. Unfortunately, Clark's offensive pressure was too much for the Wildcat defense as the host started the game by scoring three unanswered goals.

The Wildcats were able to find the back of the net in the 51st minute. Sophomore Rachel Devore took a pass from Kerrianne Fagan and slid the ball inside the left post.

Clark outshot the Wildcats, 27-9. Senior goalkeeper Clair Nolan totaled 14 saves.

JWU is back on the road Saturday as it travels to Lasell College for a GNAC game at noon.
