MENTOR, Ohio – The Johnson & Wales University IDA equestrian team took on the best teams in the country Sunday at the IDA National Championships at the George M Humphrey Equestrian Center, hosted by Lake Erie College. Johnson & Wales came in seventh.

The best ride of the day came from sophomore Samantha Kondej who finished third with a score of 66.89 in upper training. Classmate Savannah Hoglan recorded a fifth-place score of 66.15 in lower training.

Junior Maggie Dickey recorded a score of 65.57 in first level. Rounding out the scores was Kayla McCurley with an 11th-place score of 64.000 in intro.

With all four riders back for next season, head coach Crystal Taylor should have another team that will contend on a national level.
