Hosts Win JWU IDA Home Show

REHOBOTH, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University IDA equestrian team used the home ring advantage on Saturday. The Wildcats were victorious at the JWU Home Show at the JWU Equine Center.

Johnson & Wales had both the high point rider and reserve high point rider. Junior Maggie Dickey had the highest score of the day as she won first level with a score of 73.333. Sophomore Samantha Kondej scored nearly as high, tallying a 72.307 to win upper training. Picking up JWU's third blue ribbon was junior Caitlyn Gilmore as she won lower training with a 69.250.

At most shows, junior Lindsey Vollinger would have been a winner with a 72.222 in first level, but she finished second behind Dickey. Also placing second was Abby Dwyer in lower training at 68.000.

In upper training, Maria Arato took third at 68.461. Sophomore Kayla McCurley was third in intro with a score of 64.062.

JWU is back in action Saturday when it travels to Stony Creek Farm for the URI show.
