Cheerleading Takes 5th At NCA/NDA College Nationals

The JWU Cheerleading team competed in the final day of the NCA/NDA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida on Friday.

The Wildcats took home a fifth place finish in the Game Day Division II, just three points behind third place Gannon University of Pennsylvania. Coach Dib's squad earned a preliminary round score of 91.87 and followed up with a 92.40, before deductions, in the finals performance.

This was the first year the Johnson & Wales Cheerleading team traveled to Daytona for the College Nationals. The prepared for their trip with showings at the Rhode Island Interscholastic League State Championships hosted by JWU as well as the NCA/NDA Send-off hosted by Bryant University.

The team now looks ahead to closing out the athletic seasons cheering on the Wildcats heading into their championships before beginning their quest for College Nationals come September 2019.
