Darby Hudd '18 Joins Spirit Squad Staff

Former two-year captain of the Johnson & Wales Cheerleading team is coming back to Providence, this time with a new role. Head coach of the JWU Spirit Squad, Cassie Dib, has announced the hiring of Darby Hudd '18 as the assistant coach for the spirit squad in 2019-2020.

Hudd, a Milford, Conn. native, transferred to JWU in 2016 and earned her degree, cum laude, in November of 2018. In her years at JWU in the Sports, Entertainment, Event Management program she shined as a member of the National Hospitality Honor Society and Eta Sigma Delta. On the mat, Hudd was on the squad for three years and helped the team receive its first ever bid to NCA College Nationals down in Daytona, Florida.

"We are very excited to welcome Darby back to the JWU sidelines as an assistant coach. She was an integral part of the Cheerleading team during her time at JWU and she will bring those same skills and leadership to our Spirit Squad teams.” said Dib.

Prior to JWU, she was a two-time all stater in Connecticut and was a UCA All-American chosen to perform in the London New Year's Day Parade.
