Wildcats Banish Blue Devils 5-2

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C – It took the Johnson & Wales University baseball team a few innings to get going, but once the bats warmed up the Wildcats were able to pull away from Fredonia State University. The Wildcats scored in three of their last five at-bats to beat the Blue Devils, 5-2.

Of Note:
The Blue Devils got two runs on three hits against JWU starter Dane DellaValle, but they would only get three more hits off him over the next 6.2 innings. The sophomore threw 7.2 innings – the longest outing of his career – to get the victory.

Kevin Duffy ripped a double to score Gary Peralta in the fifth then came around to score himself on Justin Perez's single.

An inning later, Armani Henderson scored the eventual game-winning run on Vin Amalfitano's double.

Adam Diehl plated Perez and Joe Maracic with a pair of insurance runs in the ninth.
