Lions Outslug Wildcats 14-13

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C – The Johnson & Wales University baseball team had a furious comeback in the late innings, but couldn't overtake Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday at the Ripken Experience Complex. The Lions defeated the Wildcats, 14-13.

Of Note:
Armani Henderson hit his second home run of the week to get the Wildcats out to a 3-1 lead after the first inning.

Eastern Nazarene took the lead with four runs in the third inning then three more in the fourth. The Lions tacked on four more runs in the seventh.

JWU scored three times in the bottom of the seventh then got a two-run home run from Adam Diehl in the eighth.

Henderson's ground out in the eighth scored Colby Greenhalgh and pulled the Wildcats within 14-13. Vin Amalfitano drew a two-double walk, but ENC reliever Bobby Fulkerson got the final out.

Neither team was strong on defense as the Wildcats committed four errors and the Lions made five.
