
NEW LONDON, NH – The Johnson & Wales University baseball team wrapped up the regular season on Monday. The Wildcats split a GNAC doubleheader at Colby-Sawyer College, losing the opener, 7-6, then taking game two, 11-4.

Johnson & Wales: 23-13, 12-4 GNAC

Of Note:
The split makes Johnson & Wales the three seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament. The Wildcats will host Anna Maria at 3:30 p.m. in Tuesday's first round.
Johnson & Wales got the bats going right away in game two. Armani Henderson cleared the bases with a three-run triple.
The Wildcats tacked on three more insurance runs in the fifth inning, including a two-run double by Colby Greenhalgh.
Mike Oppenheimer threw two scoreless innings to get his first collegiate win.
In the opener, Colby-Sawyer answered JWU's first inning score with a pair of its own. Johnson & Wales grabbed a 3-2 lead on an Alex Domingos' sacrifice fly.
JWU added a two-run Henderson double in the sixth and Retsyn Ootton sacrifice fly in the seventh to extend the lead to 7-2.
Unfortunately, the Chargers got five runs in the seventh, including a two-run walk-off single by AJ Cavossa.
