NEW HAVEN, Conn. – One big inning kept the Johnson & Wales University baseball team from sweeping Thursday's GNAC doubleheader at Albertus Magnus College. The Wildcats won game one, 7-2, but lost the second game, 5-3.

By winning game one, Johnson & Wales reached the 20-win mark for the ninth year in a row.
Leading 1-0 after a Colby Greenhalgh solo home run in the third inning of game one, the Wildcats took control with a five-run fifth inning. The Falcons helped the Wildcats with an error on Anthony Roman's grounder that allowed Steve Rocchio and Alex Domingos to score and started the run.
Albertus Magnus got two runs back in the seventh, but JWU starter Josh Mousseau shut the door. He got his fourth victory by giving up two runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
Johnson & Wales dug itself a hole in game two as the Falcons scored five runs in the bottom of the first off JWU starter James Smiegocki.
Aidan Hagarty's solo home run got the Wildcats on the board in the second.
Domingos led off the seventh with a pinch hit double then came around to score on a Roman single. JWU had the tying run at the plate, but could not force extra innings.
The Wildcats are on the road Saturday to take on Colby-Sawyer in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
