MILTON, Mass – Ten runs in the fourth and fifth innings were more than enough to send the Johnson & Wales University baseball team to victory on Friday. The Wildcats defeated Curry College, 13-4.
Johnson & Wales: 16-5
Aidan Hagarty got the scoring started with a solo home run in the second inning. It's his second home run of the season and extended his hitting streak to 10 games.
Curry got three runs back in its half of the fourth, but the Wildcats responded with five more in the top of the fifth. JWU got three bases-loaded walks and Armani Henderson delivered a two-run double that plated Hagarty and Collby Greenhalgh.
That was enough offense for Dane DellaValle to get his team-leading fourth victory. He gave up four runs, two earned, in six innings of work. Matt Klarberg worked the last three innings for his collegiate save.
The Wildcats get back into action Saturday at Keene State with a 2 pm first pitch.
