PROVIDENCE, RI – There was no shortage runs Wednesday between the Johnson & Wales University baseball team and Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday. The Warriors got two runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to beat the Wildcats, 10-8
Eastern Connecticut State: 4-5
Johnson & Wales: 7-3
The Warriors struck for three runs in the first inning then got two more in the third thanks to a JWU error to build a 5-1 advantage.
Colby Greenhalgh's second home run of the day gave JWU its first lead, 8-6 after six innings. Unfortunately, the JWU bats would go silent the rest of the game. Nick Rascati came in for the five-out save.
Luke Broadhurst and Owen Marcia were the late-inning heroes for the Warriors as they each drove in a run in the seventh and eighth innings to complete the comeback.
The Wildcats are on the road Friday at Coast Guard for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
