JWU Wraps Up Spring Break with 7-5 Win Over Valiants

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – In the early part of the season, the offense has been clicking for the Johnson & Wales University baseball team. The Wildcats wrapped up their spring break trip with their fourth win in a row, 7-5, over Manhattanville on Saturday.

Of Note:
Johnson & Wales answered MC's three-run second inning with one of its own. Colby Greenhalgh ripped a triple to right center that scored Bryan Bessler and Alex Domingos.

Greenhalgh was part of a four-run fourth inning as his single scored Vin Amalfitano. Joe Maracic and Kevin Duffy had RBI singles and Maracic crossed the plate himself on a wild pitch.

Picking up his second victory of the trip was Dane DellaValle. He came out of the bullpen to throw 5.2 innings with six strikeouts and one earned run.

Tossing the final inning to secure his second save was Steve Rocchio.

The Wildcats are off until March 16 when they take on Mass Maritime in a 1 pm doubleheader.
