Big Eighth Inning Gives Wildcats 11-6 Win Over Lehman

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Five runs in the second inning and five more in the eighth propelled the Johnson & Wales University baseball team to its third win in a row. The Wildcats defeated Lehman, 11-6, on Friday.

Lehman: 1-2
Johnson & Wales: 4-1

Of Note:
The big blow in the second inning was a bases-clearing triple by Rich Bourdeau to score Steve Rocchio, Armani Henderson and Aidan Hagarty.

Lehman got back in the game with four runs in the second inning off JWU starter Jake Hernandez.

Johnson & Wales distanced itself with five more runs in the top of the eighth. Retsyn Ootton produced a double to score Colby Greenhalgh and Anthony Roman. Nick Lloyd followed with another two-run double that plated Ootton and Joe Maracic.

Reliever John Sapia came on in the ninth to get the final two outs with the bases loaded.
