Matthew Roache ’05, began his career at Johnson & Wales University in October 2007.
A 2005 graduate with a degree in sports, entertainment and event management, Roache worked as a work-study turned student assistant for the athletics department from his first week on campus in 2002 until May 2005. Upon graduation, he received a position in concessions at Gillette Stadium where he interned from June ’05 to November ’05. His tenure at Gillette started in as a commissary worker, loading concession stands weekly for events, and transitioned to the front of the house concessions assistant focusing on portable cart operation and stand operation. He remained full-time at Gillette, following his internship, and held the concessions assistant role until September 2007.
Following his stint at Gillette, Roache was hired full-time at Johnson & Wales to oversee the facilities, game-day and equipment operations for the athletics department; a role he still holds to this day. He also sits on the department's banquet committee, Hall of Fame committee, marketing and communications team and the University’s Welcome Weekend committee.
Roache is also a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Managers Association (CEFMA).
He held coaching roles as an assistant for the Rockland Post #147 American Legion baseball team from 2010-2012 and as an assistant for the Cranberry Baseball League's Rockland Cardinals from 2006-2010.
A native of Rockland, Massachusetts, Roache now lives in Attleboro with his wife Michelle, step-children Ian and Madelyn and son Chaison.
