Matt Chittim brings over 15 years of higher education to Johnson & Wales University. Starting August 6, he will serve as the first major gifts officer dedicated to athletics fundraising.

Prior to joining Johnson & Wales, Chittim served as a major gifts officer for six years at Providence College. While at PC he solicited gifts that benefited endowed scholarships, athletics, a new School of Business building, School of Business Dean's Fund, PC Fund, Angel Fund, Mission & Ministry, and Friar Forever Fund.

During his time at Providence College, Chittim managed a portfolio of 170 alumni/ae and parents throughout New England and New York. He executed approximately 20 solicitations each year ranging from $50,000 - $250,000 and brought in more than a million dollars during the 2016-17 school year.

Chittim got his start in higher education at Roger Williams University where he started as an assistant basketball coach before adding assistant director for undergraduate admissions duties. From there he went on to become a class campaign associate where he worked with the 40th, 45th, and 50th Reunion Gift Committees and coordinated the class of 2008 Class Gift Committee.

Additionally, Chittim is a frequent professional speaker and presenter at engagements such as CASE, Association of Catholic Admissions and Advancement Professionals, and Citizens Private Bank and Ocean State Charities Networking and Informational Session. He also hosts the Rambling Runner Podcast, which has been featured in Shape Magazine and several popular running blogs.
