Women's Volleyball Will Host Inaugural President's Game

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Johnson & Wales University Providence Campus President, Marie Bernardo-Sousa LP.D. ‘92, and Director of Athletics, Dana Garfield, have announced the first-ever President’s Game at JWU. These games will be held each term throughout the academic and athletic calendar to further promote and encourage school spirit by our student body, faculty and staff members at JWU athletic contests.

President Bernardo-Sousa will attend a slate of games in 2019-2020 to cheer on the Wildcats in some of their biggest matchups of the year. The first President’s Game is Tuesday, September 24, at 6 p.m., when the fourth-ranked women’s volleyball team hosts regional rival MIT. The president will take part in any number of events on game day, ranging from a pre-game speech to the team to presenting the game ball and joining the team for lineups and the national anthem. The president will also be in the stands to cheer on the Wildcats alongside other JWU fans.

Future President’s games will be held on February 1, 2020, when the men’s basketball team takes on the University of Saint Joseph, and softball has the final game lined up on April 25, 2020, when the Wildcats host Simmons University.
