For only the second time in school history, and the first under current head coach Scott Reslow, the JWU men's volleyball team qualified for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament. On March 28, 2009, JWU was the #4 seed with a record of 6-6 in conference play. A senior First-Team All-Conference player in Sean Lauro led the team into the match versus the #1 seed Rivier College Raiders. Lauro, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter from Massachusetts, amassed 277 kills and an incredible 3.96 kills per set that year. A talented freshman from Bulgaria in Petar Yanakiev aided Lauro that season. Yanakiev carved out 44 aces in that campaign, which is still good for sixth all-time. The Wildcats would fall in three sets, however that year set the tone as JWU has only missed the playoffs once since that 2009 season.
On March 24, 2010, Jonathan Melendez hit one of his 12 home runs for the Johnson & Wales baseball team against UMass Boston in a 9-6 setback for the Wildcats. Melendez's 12 dingers during his senior year in 2010 would become the home run benchmark for future JWU baseball players to chase.
On March 25, 2015, the JWU women's lacrosse team defeated Rivier, 14-1. Between the pipes for the Wildcats was senior Genevieve Giampietro. With five saves and only one goal against, she improved to 6-0 on the year.
