WINTHROP, Mass. – After quarterbacking the Johnson & Wales University women's volleyball team to a trio of victories – including the first over a ranked opponent – sophomore Brylee Frank was a natural selection for GNAC Player of the Week as announced by the league office.
It's the second POW award for Frank (Palm City, Fla.) and the fifth for the Wildcats. Johnson & Wales has earned all five Player of the Week awards in 2017. Jennelle Thompson from Saint Joseph's was named Libero of the Week and Suffolk's Hannah Fabiano picked up Rookie of the Week.
During a trio of victories, Frank averaged 9.78 assists and 2.00 digs per set. She had 39 assists in a three-set win over 14th-ranked MIT and added 10 digs for her third double-double. In addition, Frank had five service aces while hitting .357 with six kills.
The Wildcats are on the road Wednesday when they travel to Saint Joseph for a 7 p.m. contest.
