Women’s Volleyball Eliminated From GNAC Playoffs With 3-0 Loss To Emerson
The women's volleyball team was eliminated from the 2011 Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs with a 3-0 (15-25, 18-25, 13-25) loss to Emerson in the quarterfinals of the tournament at the Bobbi Brown and Steven Pfolker Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.
Freshman Alyssa Drapeau (Biddeford, Maine) led the way for Johnson & Wales with five kills, nine set assists and three digs while senior Audrey Warren (Haverhill, Mass.) added five kills and two blocks in the setback for the Wildcats.
Emerson was paced by Megan Kaplon with 13 kills and five digs while Kelsey Scanlon added 11 kills and eight digs for the Lions. Kathleen Bailey chipped in with 39 set assists and five digs in the victory.
With the loss Johnson & Wales wraps up the season with a 10-25 record while Emerson improves to 23-7 on the year. The Lions have advanced to the GNAC semifinals on Thursday, November 3rd against the winner of Norwich vs. Simmons at 7:00 p.m.
