JWU Wildcats Fall Classic Final Results
Senior Meghan Sullivan (Marlton, N.J.) was named the Most Valuable Player after leading the Panthers to the championship of the 2011 JWU Fall Classic, hosted by Johnson & Wales at the Harborside RAC this weekend. The host Wildcats finished in fifth place for the tournament with senior Audrey Warren (Haverhill, Mass.) earning All-Tournament honors.

Women’s Volleyball Takes Fifth At New Paltz Invitational
The women’s volleyball squad traveled to the New Paltz Invitational over the weekend and notched a fifth-place finish. On Friday, the Wildcats opened the weekend with a 3-1 (9-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-25) loss to Clarkson and a 3-2 (12-25, 25-14, 25-21, 17-25, 4-15) setback against Mount St. Mary. Saturday saw the Wildcats fall to host New Paltz by a score of 3-0 (12-25, 14-25, 24-26) and finish with a 3-0 (11-25, 20-25, 9-25) loss to Fredonia.

2011 Johnson & Wales University Volleyball Invitational Final Results
Senior Lauren Torvi (North Smithfield, R.I.) was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2011 JWU Wildcats Invitational after leading Springfield College to a perfect 4-0 mark for the weekend Springfield took home the championship while Connecticut College went 3-1 for a second place finish. Host Johnson & Wales finished in fifth place for the weekend.

On the second day of competition, JWU fell to host Western Connecticut by a score of 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 15-25, 10-25) and wrapped up the day with a 3-1 loss against Kean (25-23, 18-25, 12-25, 18-25). Sophomore Giselle Cram-Ortiz (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) was named to the all-tournament team for the Wildcats.

Women’s Volleyball Falls To Brandeis, 3-0 In 2011 Season Opener
The women’s volleyball team opened the 2011 season with a 3-0 setback against Brandeis on the first day of the Western Connecticut Invitational. Brandeis took a 25-21 win in game one, posted a 25-17 win in the second game and completed the sweep with a 25-22 win in the third and final game.
