MANSFIELD, Conn. – Despite a 2-to-1 advantage in shots, the Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team could not come through with a goal Monday at Eastern Connecticut State. The Wildcats dropped a 1-0 decision to the Warriors.
The loss dropped Johnson & Wales' record to 3-5. ECSU improved to 5-2.
Eastern Connecticut State got the game's lone goal in the 54th minute. Tara Shayler served the ball into the box and Stephanie Sanchez knocked it home.
The Wildcats had a 15-6 advantage in shots, but ECSU goalkeepers Kayla Labrecque and Erin Collins stopped all seven JWU shots on goal.
Johnson & Wales gets back into conference action Wednesday when it takes on Regis at 7:30 p.m.
