QUINCY, Mass. – The early offensive outburst continued for the Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team on Monday. Four different players scored for the Wildcats, including two more by rookie Olivia Cairrao, in the 6-0 victory over the Lions.
Eastern Nazarene: 0-2
Johnson & Wales: 2-0
Eastern Nazarene kept the Wildcats off the board for more than 28 minutes, but then JWU struck for two goals in 76 seconds. Cairrao (Bristol, R.I.) got the scoring started at the 28:32 mark then Kyra Selner (Sterling, Va.) found the back of the net in the 30th minute.
Just 90 seconds into the second half, Cairro struck again with Cat Nolan (Center Moriches, N.Y.) providing the first of her two assists. Cairro is the first Wildcat to record back-to-back multi-goal games since Selner did it against Albertus Magnus & Simmons last season.
Nolan got her second assist of the night when she fed the pass to Deja Hursey (Columbia, Md.) for her second goal. Hursey has four goals in her first two games.
The Wildcats go on the road Saturday for a 5 p.m. contest at Saint Joseph's.
