Women’s Rowing Competes at Assumption Invitational

WORCESTER Mass. – For the second week in a row, the Johnson & Wales University women's rowing team was on the water at Lake Quinsigamond. The Wildcats had a pair of top three finishes at the Assumption Invitational on Saturday.

Leading the way was the Varsity 8. Directed by coxswain Jessica Tilley and stroke Jaym Henderson, the Wildcats were in the lead for most of the race before getting edged out down the stretch by Assumption. JWU crossed the 2000-meter finish line in 7:06.03.

The Varsity 4 took third behind Bryant and Assumption with a time of 8:30.0. Sarah Healy served as the coxswain with Amber White as the stroke. Tatiana Windley was the coxswain and Julia Alfonzetti was the stroke for the second Varsity 4 that crossed the line in 10:02.0.

Johnson & Wales is on the road Saturday at Franklin Pierce.
