PROVIDENCE, RI – For the first time this season, the Johnson & Wales University women's rowing team was in the water. It was a successful start to the year for the Wildcats as they posted a pair of victories at the Head of Seekonk regatta on Saturday.
JWU started the day by winning the Varsity 4 by nearly a minute over Bryant. Elizabeth Conover-Prentiss (Belmont, Mass.) served as the coxswain and Jaym Henderson (Woodstock, Vt.) was the stroke for the Wildcats as they posted a winning time of 22:47.1 on the 5,000-meter course.
It was a much closer race in the Varsity 8 as the Wildcats edged Bryant by just 0:00.90. Johnson & Wales crossed the finish line in 24:24.20 with sophomore Elise Bray serving as coxswain and Logan Corbett taking care of the stroke duties.
