Johnson & Wales Wrestling Takes Third At NEWA Futures Tournament

The wrestling team notched a third-place finish at the 2012 New England Wrestling Association Futures Tournament, hosted by Roger Williams University on Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Daniel Pond (Newbury Park, Calif.) had a 2-0 record at 197 pounds to take first place while fellow rookie Eric Kogel (Sayville, N.Y.) also took home first place at 157 pound weight class with a 4-0 record.  Freshman Andrew Gauthier (Lowell, Mass.) took second place at 125 pounds with a 3-1 mark while senior Justin Sitzer (Manapalan, Fla.) notched a 5-1 mark at 149 pounds which earned him a third place finish.

The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday-Sunday, February 25^th-26^th when they travel to Wesleyan for the NEWA Championships.
