Wrestling Sweeps Williams Quad
The wrestling squad posted a perfect 3-0 record at the Williams Quad Match on Saturday. The Wildcats opened with a 24-18 win over Oneonta and followed that up with a commanding 38-3 win over WPI. The Wildcats wrapped up the day with a 30-13 win over host Williams.
Junior Colin Lenhardt (Hayes, Va.), currently ranked ninth nationally at 174 pounds, recorded three wins, all via pin fall for Johnson & Wales. Junior Connor Nelson (Wakefield, R.I.) also had three pin fall victories for the Wildcats for a 3-0 record on the day. Freshman 165 pounder Frank Marotti (Fairfield, N.J.) and sophomore 197 pounder Blake McNulty (Framingham, Mass.), and freshman 157 pounder Matt Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) each had two wins on the day for JWU.
With the wins Johnson & Wales is a perfect 4-0 in dual matches this season. The Wildcats will return action on Sunday, December 11th when they host intra-state rival Roger Williams in a Pilgrim League contest at 2:00 p.m.
