Women’s Lacrosse Dominates Albertus Magnus 18-4

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team got out to a fast start against visiting Albertus Magnus on Wednesday night and never looked back. The Wildcats stayed undefeated in conference play as they beat the Falcons, 18-4.

Albertus Magnus: 4-5, 1-5
Johnson & Wales: 10-4, 6-0 GNAC

Statistical Leaders:
Lydia Knapp (JWU): 2 goals, 1 assist
Gabrielle Vasile (JWU): 2 goals, 1 assist
Raquel Pederzani (JWU): 3 goals

Of Note:
Johnson & Wales scored the first 14 games, including three from Raquel Pederzani (Coventry, RI) and two by Gabrielle Vasile (Milford, Mass.). Included in that run was a goal by senior Lydia Knapp (Glens Falls, NY) which was the 300th point of her career.

The Wildcats got goals from 12 different players, including five with at least two. Pederzani led all players with three scores while Knapp and Vasile each had two goals and one assist.

Albertus Magnus got all four of its goals from Kaitlin D'Agostino and Nikki Kern.

Johnson & Wales had a decided 31-13 margin in shots. The Wildcats also had the advantage in draw controls (17-6) and ground balls (15-10).

The Wildcats play their final home regular season game on Saturday when they host St. Joseph's at 1 p.m. Prior to the game, JWU will honor the four seniors on this year's team.
